Remove the two screws securing the metal face cover, then remove the cover; 2. Remove the black gear on the right side; (please take a picture of the gear on the right side before removing the gear. It will be useful when you install a new shaft) 3. Loosen the left brass bush located at the left end of the gear; 4. Lift the shaft from the left side and pull it out; (note the order of the three small washers located on the right side of the shaft, these washers will come loose when the shaft is removed and need to be put back in place in the same order) 5.
